Your new website is looking good Mr. Hill.
I look forward to many visits to the ‘Chill during the forthcoming 2012 Olympic year!
And so it begins. Good look Cway, now lets go stay informed…
Nice website padre!
It looks snazzy.
Is Clay ready to compete in decathlon? If not who will be the third qualifier behind Eaton and Hardee?
Good question .. I haven’t heard or read anything about Clay yet .. He’s a vet who knows how to prepare so I would imagine that he will be ready .. If not there really is no replacement because we drop off all the way down around 8000 pts unless someone has a breakthrough year ..
I recently read where Clay stated that he was in great shape and hoping for another Olympic medal to add to his gold and silver.
Mr. Hill,
Great Blog.
I thought I was reading my autobiogrphy when reading the “About” section. I too remember going to the Modesto Relays, USA/USSR meets at the Coliseum, USC/UCLA meets (James MsCalister, Willie Deckard, etc.). I got hooked on T&F when I saw Ulis Williams run 46.1 in high school for 440y in 1961 for Compton HS at the CIF finals. When I retired in 2000, I moved to Eugene, OR to be near Hayward Field. Go to all the meets. Can’t wait for the Olympic Trials.
I have been following Ryan Bailey since he was in high school. A tremendous talent. Saw him run 20.2 for the 200 at the Pre meet from Lane 2! Glad he is with John Smith and has moved on from his HS coach. If he can stay healthy, he will shock the world. Saw him at a relay at Hayward go up against Asthon Eaton (my favorite) on the second leg of a 4X100 relay. Everyone was waiting for Asthon to pull away from the field. Ryan caught him and put about 8-10 yards on him. The crowd was stunned because very few people knew about Bailey.
Anyway, thanks for your great work.

Bailey could be the American version of Usain Bolt .. I’ve felt this way for a while now … The kid is mega talented … Just needs to stay healthy and get his first 40 together … If he can be with the field at the halfway point he can do some major damage …
People from our era have a totally different view of the sport … Track and field was so much more fun and exciting “back in the day” …
I think Mr.Bailey is the next great american sprinter also but,it will happen in 2013 and beyond he doesn’t move well from 0 to 40 just yet! take this year trails he was dead last and made his move at 60 to 100 meters, that won’t cut against the like’s of Blake and Bolt his chief rivals for the next 2 Olympic 100m dashes….
Oh definitely … When he masters the start/transition he will be a beast … But no one is coming from behind against any of the primary sprinters right now …
Attractive website; Solid statistical resource; Interesting posts…
Keep up the good work, Conway!
