\"D<\/a>OK, it\u2019s time to do this. I\u2019ve procrastinated long enough. I kept hoping that the \u201cnext meet\u201d would clear things up, but even Monaco yesterday just made things harder. As a matter of fact you will see some changes even from my US medal hopes of a couple of days ago \u2013 things are that fluid in my opinion.<\/p>\n

Clearly this is going to be a meet with a lot of potential \u201cupsets\u201d, and I would expect that we will see a few new stars emerge. Frankly that\u2019s a good thing, because the sport can never have enough stars \u2013 if only we would learn to maximize the marketing potential of ALL of them. Besides upsets keep things exciting, it\u2019s one of the reasons I enjoy \u201cMarch Madness\u201d so much \u2013 upsets compel you to keep watching. <\/p>\n

With that, here is my \u201cbracket\u201d for the Olympic Games. I\u2019ve done my best to factor in \u201cinjuries\u201d; athletes competing at less than their best; and frankly athletes stepping up to the occasion. I\u2019m sure there are disagreements as every athlete\/country has it\u2019s fan base. That\u2019s why they compete \u2013 to see how it turns out. <\/p>\n
